This new format is valid for all Union countries. Depending on the certification type, it is issued for one shipment, 1 - 5 years. It is gradually replacing GOST-R Certificate. Product groups that fall under mandatory certification via TR CU Certificate of Conformity are covered by 61 sets of Technical Regulations of the Customs Union.

of Customs Union has replaced the now obsolete
Sanitary Hygienic Certificate and establishes conformity
of products to
Russian and Customs Union sanitary regulations. It has no expiration and stays valid as long as the product is not changed.

Many exporters apply for it for two purposes:
- to make their product more competitive in the Russian market
- to avoid disputes with incompetent officers at the Customs

A formal confirmation from an authorized organization that the product with a given HS Code does not fall under mandatory certification. |

Becoming obsolete and gradually replaced by GOST TR Certificate. Once their validity has expired, or better a few months prior to that, a new GOST-TR certificate has to be applied for. |
